Card Positioning Systems # 48

Hallo,
Short note - not too much stamping time today. We are fixin to head out to eat for Super for my DD's birthday. Watch out there is a TEENAGER in my house now. I cannot believe she is 13 already - my DH never lets me forget that she was born on Super Bowl Sunday (even if she was born at 2pm and since we were in Germany at the time the Super Bowl wasn't on until 2 AM).
This is a card using Card Positioning Systems sketch #48 - yes I am a little behind :). It uses a TJ technique called Reverse Prints for the leaves with a bronze color wash spray, lined with copper Krylon pen. This picture is a little dark but the paper is dark brown and the backround is a Stampin Up stamp - Baroque Motifs - done in copper ink, and the ribbon is gold.
I have another card for CPS about half finished but it will have to wait for the weekend - I work the next 3 days (12 hour shifts). We'll see you then - probably on Sunday as Saturday I have 8 extra kids in the house for DD's birthday party.....wish me luck.

Valentine card & Pirate mailboxes

Hallo,
Got a little time at the craft table today after I did some yard work, took the DH and the dog for a walk and had lunch at our fav beach resterant - the weather was PERFECT!!! 63 degrees and sunny. Will have to do some more yard work tomorrow because it is sposed to start raining and get cold again tuesday....
This card is both for a challenge from my friend Vickihttp://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/ and from a fellow TJ'er http://www.technostamper.blogspot.com Mary Jo Vic's challenge was to use 3 different papers and Mary Jo's was the sketch.
Then I have another mailbox for you - I did 3 of these but since they are all similar I am only showing you one. @ will go to DH and DS for Valentines and one will go to the Etsy shophttp://www.stampqueen.etsy.com/. I used some great wallpaper for the main paper - old world maps and then some Pirates colored in with my prismacolors (I can't remember where I got the Pirates from - they are unmounted and again slacker me didn't write down where I got them from ).
Well better get the rest of my computer playing done - see ya tomorrow.

Mailbox and Estate sale finds

Hallo,
One more mailbox and then some Estate sale finds from today (one of the reasons I didn't get much time at the craft table today :).
The next couple mailboxes are going to be Pirate ones for DD and DH.
Went to an Estate sale on my way to the gym this am and found some good stuff. First was the set of 3 picture frames for 2 dolla - can't decide yet how I want to redo them but thinking flowers.....Any body have any ideas?
I also found a box of old crochet hooks - my Mom collects these so will send them to her for Valentines - these were only 3 dolla and the box also included several latch hooks which I will use. The only other stuff I found was some old jewerly. But I have about 4 garage sales on my list for tomorrow - DH bought me a Magellon computer map thingy for Christmas so it will get used alot tomorrow :).
My other errands included - stopping at a pool place (we need a new liner for our above ground so I am trying to price them), groceries , and a trip to wal -mart for some magazines for my DD. Her Birthday is next week and I told her we could redo her room when she turned 13 so I got her a bunch of decorating magazines to look at - tomorrow after garage sales we will stop at Lowes and look at paint chips and laminate floor samples...
all for today - going to try and enter my craft room - DS has a friend over and they have taken over the living room (Wii) :)

Valentines mailboxes - again :)

Hallo,
Short note as I have been playing on the computer way too long tonight. I didn't do much for stamping today but did spend a couple hours with my stampin buds with our little group that gets together a couple times a month.
I did up a bunch of backrounds on ATC size to stamp on tomorrow and then covered a few more mailboxes which I hope to trim out and embellish tomorrow also.
I am going to Creative Pallette in St. Marys Ga next month and need to get some ATC's done for the trade. (see www.bettysstamppad.com for more info)
I love these little mailboxes - I bought a total of 40 so far and am tempted to do more...they are so much fun. I gotta send one to my Mom :) - and I need to make up a couple Pirate ones for my DH and DS. I am saving some of the red one for Christmas - for letters to Santa of course :)
I hope to have some ATC's to show ya'll tomorrow - may have some more mailboxes but you might be tired of them too...
All for now - gotta arrange a weekend sleepover for DS and see about some grub (aka food for dinner)

Second post - more mailboxes

Hallo,
Second post for the day to make up for not posting for 4 days :)
The first pic is more of the mailbox for my DD using ribbon, flowers, a charm, DP of course and glitter letters from the dollar spot at Target.
The second one is very bright and fun - made with heart paper, old ribbon and rick rack, some heart shaped brads to spell out TRUE and LOVE, and I pulled out my Nestabilities to make oval scallops for the flag and the front of the mailbox (which is not pictured).
Well I had better get off the computer now as I am sposed to be cleaning....rats....
I work tomorrow too but saved 2 more boxes to show ya.

More mailboxes

Hallo,
I had company in town on Friday and then worked all weekend including yesterday ( 3 - 12 hours shifts gets harder and harder to do)
My company was my Aunt and Uncle from Idaho passing through on their way to a time share in S.Florida for a few weeks - I hadn't seen them in about 4 years I think. We had fun showing them the beach (my kids were off school) and then just sat around and talked.
I did get some crafting done today although not much "stampin" - there is a little stamping on this first mailbox with Stampin Up's Baroque motifs. Also used on this mailbox was a little cranberry glimmer mist, a love charm, some brads, some old pink lace ribbon, and some flowers.
I did 6 of these mailboxes today - had cut paper on the couch the last couple nights while watching TV so all I had to do was glue and embellish.
The second one I am going to show you will be for my DD - the other 5 will go to the Etsy shop :) I will have to post a couple more pics of the one for my DD in a second post (Picassa will only let me do 4).
The second one uses ribbon, flowers, a love charm, and some silver glitter letters also from the Target dollar spot.
All for now - watch for the second post for today :)

Valentines Mailbox

Hallo,
Something new - for me anyway - boy am I glad I stocked up on these when I found them at Target last week because this went together so easy and as my friend Vicki says 'so stinkin cute' :)http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/
No stamping on this one just patterned paper, ribbon, flowers with stickles glitter on them, and a little 'LOVE' charm. I used Modge Podge to glue them on.
Sending you 4 views and keeping it short for the day as I have some relatives coming in from out of town for tonight and tomorrow - they should be here any minute. I haven't seen either of them in a couple years.

Popsicle Tulips

Hallo,
Only one pic for you today - still on the Patriotic kick, but should have something different for you tomorrow :).
I thought I would color these tulips (from PSX) red , white and blue and I like how they turned out but they remind me of the red, white and blue popsicles that we used to only be able to get at the State Fair - now we can get them from the local Ice cream truck (you know the ones that drive around the neighborhoods playing music that the kids can hear 5 miles away :).
I didn't get much else done today - walked the dog in the rain, went to the gym and then when I got back from the gym instead of getting groceries and cleaning I ended up taking a LONG, HOT bath - something about a long hot bath when its raining which I can hear from the window by my tub along with the wind chimes singing in the wind that gets me - I don't get much done buy boy was it nice!!!
After the kids got out of school we had a few errands to run that took longer than I expected - 2 stops then 3 more stops to collect water samples for a science experiment (beach, bay-southside, bay-northside, and inlet lake...).
See ya tomorrow

Freedom Flowers

Hallo,
More Patriotic cards - stocking up on a few of these to send to relatives and soon to be relatives in the military and over in Iraq at the moment. My DH's neice got engaged over Xmas and then he left for 4 months in Iraq and I have 2 cousins over there right now too.
Stamps - Tulips from PSX, plaid backround from Stampin Up.
Technique is called Marker Wash from Technique Junkies on the tulips and then I colored in the leaves and the bucket after. The bucket also has some silver metallic pen on it. Tag is cut on my cuttlebug - edged in gold Krylon. Ribbon is a plain white ribbon dyed with Staz on Blazing red same as the plaid backround. The tulip stamp is done with Marvy markers.
The weather here today was absoulutly Perfect - 65 degrees and sunny - I LOVE winter in florida - makes up for the summers which I don't like!! ( very hot, humid, and always looking over our shoulders at the latest hurricaine ).
All for now - I work the next 2 days so I will see you again on wednesday!!!
Take Care and God Bless

Patriotic flowers

Hallo,
Just a short note for tonight - have super to make and a Wii tournament to play with the kids - didn't do much at the craft table today - just a couple patriotic cards. I did get a bunch more yard work done today though and the last of my glad bulbs replanted.
The first card uses a Firecracker stamp from Stampendous, Fireworks from Hero arts, and a flower stamp from Me & Carrie Lou (?Cassie Lou - its hard to read on my stamp). White , red glitter, and teal glitter embossing powders - small red galss jewels -a tag cut with my Cuttlebug - a gold Krylon pen, and a white ribbon dyed red with my red Staz on ink pad.
The second card is done with a flower stamp from Stampendous stamped in Staz on red and Not quite Navy from Stampin Up - and in black and colored in with my Prismacolor pencils. I added clear jewels to the center and then punched a tag with SU's window punch for the 'America' and added 2 star shaped brads. I also edged the white layers with gold Krylon and the "America' is also written in gold metallic.
That's all for tonight - gotta roll....

Mamma's Girl

Hallo,
An 'Inspiration' picture and 2 cards...but first...
I have to tell you about my shopping day because goodness knows my DH just won't understand...as most of my few 'readers' are probably women you will understand this sooo much better. I had planned to do all my errands today for 2 reasons - 1 - I needed to get my nails done but wanted to do a bunch of yard work first so as not to ruin them the first day and 2 because the things I needed to shop for are the last things I like to go shopping for and I was putting it off - as I work the next 2 days it had to be today. Above all else I hate shoping for Bra's but I couldn't put it off any longer as I was in dire - and I mean DIRE - need of new ones. The problem is that I HATE the underwire thing and refuse to wear them which makes selection very limited....now imagine me doing yard work on monday and slicing my thumb open quite well (I am known to be an expert klutz). OK - so can you guess - here I am shopping for above mentioned BRA's and not only does my thumb (yes the right hand) hurt but with a bandaid on it makes it even more fun....I was very frustrated but eventually my funny bone kicked in and I got the giggles - to top it off when I got home I noticed that all my struggles in the dressing room had essentially scraped the polish off same said thumb-nail.....
So was that TMI or what :)

Now for todays cards - the first picture was my inspiration for the backround and flowers.
I started with the weave backrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms stamped once in 'So saffron' and once in 'Mellow moss' both from Stampin Up. The flowers are also Stampin Up - colored with LePlume markers - cherry, pine green (also the Mother's Day stamp) and prussian blue. The girl stamp is from Magenta - colored with my Prismacolor pencils (stamped in saddle brown Staz On). The Happy Mother's Day stamp is from Stampendous.
I can't decide which one I like better but I think it is the second one.
Well better get rollin here - super to get too
and a game of Wii with the kids...
I work the next 2 so you won't see me again until saturday after yard work is done (maybe I'll get lucky and it will rain - wait, take that back - then I'd have to do housework...)
Have a great day!

Patriotic flowers

Hallo,
Boy was it another beautiful day here is Florida - I got in another 2 hours + of yard work and by lunch time it was almost hot. I have my yard work about half done now - one area in the back corner and the flower beds out in front of my house to do yet - then I have 2 arches to put together, one for some clemetis that outgrew the one that is there and one for another up and coming clemetis that should outgrow his arch this year. I have pretty good luck with the clementis usually. I also, in addition to weeding and clearing dead stuff - dug up and replanted a bunch of daffodils and glads.
I did get some time at the craft table but only got one card done - another (rather 3 versions of another) is in the works to finish tomorrow. I saved some coloring to do on the couch tonight....
The card I did I am showing you 2 views as the light was failing in the craft room (I get better pics mid day than evening ). I used a backround from Cornish Heritage Farms stamped twice - once with 'so saffron' and once with 'mellow moss' (both Stampin Up) then stamped the flowers (Stampendous) in 'not quite navy' (also SU) and Staz-on blazing red. The dandilion stamp (DP Artworks) was embossed in white.
The ribbon is a white ribbon which I dyed with the Staz-on blazing red to match - did you know that if you lay the ribbon on the ink pad and then cover it with the plastic tray that comes with a Staz-on pad you can push down on it and pull the ribbon through without getting you fingers inky.
I learned that today - LOL - it was one of those "Brilliant"
moments - hee hee.
I also took out my Cuttlebug for the first time today to get the slider tag. I have had my Cuttlebug for almost 2 months now and just first got it out today - thats almost sad isn't it :)
I am impressed with how easy it is to work and the great results - you'll be seeing more Cuttlebug stuff in the near fucture!!!
Last but not least a few red/clear/blue sequins - tiny ones on the flowers, slightly larger for the tag which is edged in gold Krylon pen.
All for the day - gotta see about rustling up some grub for super.
Take Care

Double Pocket Valentines Cards

Hallo,
Just a quick post tonight - I didn't do much stamping today but I did do alot of yard work. I love Florida in winter (it's the summer that drives me crazy). My yard has been sorely neglected as of late and today I started amending that. I needed to get my flowers beds cleaned off and ready for new plants. Going to try a bunch of seeds this year and the old faithful Dahlias which I seem to have good luck with.
These 3 cards are made using a Double Pocket fold from Technique Junkies which I had made up awhile ago when I was playing with the fold - I have about 20 of the double pocket in different colors just waiting for me to finish. So I picked out the red ones and made them into Valentines. The paper is Basic Gray and the key and small heart are Stampin Up but I am not sure who made the large heart of the Happy Valentines Day (I have had that stamp about 12 years or more).
I did a couple in red embossing powder and a couple in white, and the last photo is of the tags and they were done all the same.
All for today - will try to get more stampin in tomorrow but still have lots of yard work to do too and the weather is going to be perfect for the yard work!!!
