Spring Blossum Fairy

Hallo,
Kinda a murky day here in NW Florida so I decided to make something spring like....
I really have been enjoying my 'Sweet Pea stamps' lately - I always did love to color :)
She is colored with prismacolor pencils and I tried to use colors from the DP behind the main image. There is peachy pink, light orange, red and a bit of minty green too - I used the peachy pink and minty green with a little more pink and then did the kitties in orange.....
I will be using this for the current challenge over at 'In A Sweet Pea Dream' - for ribbons and bows.
Check out the challenge here - http://www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

I will also use this for the 'Anything Goes' challenge over at 'Sweet Pea Stampers' - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com

I used several ribbons - the wider green one and the under part of the main bow both from my stash - the ribbon flower was a recent gift from my Secret Sister from Stamp TV - Janice :) (ribbon flower is from Maya Road) and this card is going out to Janice on monday :).
Thanks for all the goodies Janice!!!! You were an awsome SS!!!!!
All for today - but I will be back tomorrow to ring in the New Year.
Hope everyone has a great New Years Eve - have fun and stay safe!!!!

Southwestern Howdy

Hallo,
Well this isn't what I intended to show you today but what little I got done in the craft room today, I lost daylight to photograph.....so tomorrow I guess.
I had several Christmas cards to show you yet but really wasn't in the mood....
This is a southwest style piece I did using stamps from Outlines Rubber Stamps. I used 2 of their collage stamps and colored them with copic markers. I then cut the sections apart - layering them onto coredinations paper that I ran through different cuttlebug folders and sanded off the texture to show the white core underneath.
I know in the photo that the picture look a bit katywampus but they really aren't - I was getting a really bad glare off the glass and was kinda angled to get the picture.

All for today!!!

Swim Team and School ornaments

Hallo,
Showing you a few ornaments that I made tonight.
I started out to make an ornament with swim team sweatshirt charms for my DS and his buddy, then I added on an ornament for DS's buddys younger sister, as she is on the MS swim team which both DS and his buddy help coach.... then of course I added one for younger brother and their Mom too.
The charms on all but the purple one are made from shrink paper, rubber stamps and colored pencils.
The dolphins on the first one is the neighborhood grade schools mascot.

For the purple ones charms I used premade jewerly charms I found at HL.
I am not sure what company makes the dolphin stamp as it is really old, much used and has worn off the wood mount.
The sweatshirt stamps are from Gina K's 'Sporty Tee's set - green and white for the HS and black and gold for the MS.
The ornament topper is accually the Spellbinders Snowflake pendant with one of the smaller snowflakes to cut out the center.
A bit of glitter, some small beads for inside the ornaments and ....done...
All for tonight - Take Care

Christmas sketch

Hallo,
I decided to post this am before I went to sleep for the day - planning to sleep as long as possible... :)
I did these 3 cards for a sketch challenge over at Stamp TV a couple weeks ago - as often happens I couldn't decide which color combo I wanted to use so ended up doing several.
The stamp is from Gina K - the Heirloom Ornaments set and cut out with the Spellbinders die that the set coordinates with.
All for now - I should have a few hours of quiet this am...DH is at work and both my kiddos slept over at friends last night....I am expecting a phone call about lunch time to go fetch one or both of them and then hopefully back home to sleep some more before lunch.
Only tonight to work and then 4 off to start off the new year!!! :)

Vintage sepia Christmas

Hallo,
Welcome to Monday morning......ahhh well, Monday afternoon......
My kiddos drug me out of the house this am to go spend Christmas money and gift cards(cold, damp and yukky out).....I did manage to get a bit of time in the craft room later, but had glitter drying so will show you some more of my Christmas cards.....
This card is again done with the Christmas postcard set from Flourishes - stamped in green ink and lightly colored with colored pencils.
Simple layering to some great DP and with a soft velvet ribbon and old fashioned looking brad - it came together very quickly.

That's about all for today - tried to get a nap but DD woke me....she had a friend that was sposed to stay over and they decided DD would go stay at her place instead and she woke me to ask for a ride - I told her not until I woke from my nap (which was going to be a short one anyhow....) but then couldn't get back to sleep.....so I got up and took her over to her friends.....it will be an extra caffiene night for me.....
Have a good night!!!!

Vintage Postcard - green

Hallo,
I am feeling very lazy this am - managed to ramp up just enough energy to go for a walk with DH and da mutt and now just feel like going back to bed.....ah well, another cup of tea may do the trick....
Showing you some more of my Christmas cards - these were towards the end and very quick and easy to do.
I used the Christmas Postcard set from FLourishes again - this batch in green. 2 in green and white and 2 with a base cardstock of green.
I used white core cardstock for the green base and sanded off some texture from a texture folder.
I liked how they turned out - as you already know because I have shown you other color groups.....
Well I am going to get out of this chair before I fall asleep and get a move on.....I will need to take a nap this afternoon because I work tonight.
Have a Great Christmas Eve and a very Merry Christmas!!!! I will be back on Monday with craft posts - may do a post or 2 for the family over the weekend thought :) - you are welcome to stop in anytime :).

Christmas Postcard

Hallo,
Tried to get caught up on things here today - got my blog caught up but somehow the energy and the time wasn't on my side to get the housework caught up ......ah well I guess there is always tomorrow......
The kiddos and I slept late this am. DS had a friend sleep over and they were up till about 2 am - and even though I was falling asleep on the couch early and went to bed, at about 230 I was wide awake (which is typical of my first night off - my computer or a good book fills up a couple hours and then I go back to bed...) when I went back to bed I slept through the alarm I set....

The kiddos went roller skating for most of the afternoon - I got a few groceries and did some laundry and then headed to the craft room.
Todays 2 cards were accually done a few weeks ago but as Christmas is almost here I figured I should get busy and show you the rest of my Christmas Cards....
These 2 are both done with a stamp set from Flourishes called Christmas Postcard and can be found here - www.flourishes.org

I colored both with copics and tried to keep it light and the base cardstock was run through the Cuttlebug in a texture folder.
The flower embellishments were colored to match with some of the same copic markers that I colored the image with....
All for today - I need to wrap a couple Christmas present yet.....

Sweet Moony Valentine

Hallo,
Another great Sweet Pea card for you today!! I have been doing alot of coloring lately and these image are perfect for coloring!!!
This image is called 'Spring Moony Night' and you can find her here - www.sweetpeastamps.com
I thought this card turned out perfect for a Valentines card.
I colored her with copics markers (except the background which is pencil). I just love her dreamy expression!!!
She is cut out with Spellbinders labels die and the panel under her too, and layered to some Basic Grey DP and onto a green base cardstock.
Added some soft brown ribbon and some pretty brads and that was it. These images don't need much for embellishments as they are wonderful all by themselves!!!!
All for today - Take Care

Sweet Pirate

Hallo,
I am backposting today and tomorrow - had these wonderful 'Sweet Pea' images to show you but some very busy nights at work took its toll on me this week!!!! Whew - I know there is something to be said for job security but WOW!!!!
Anyway - I love this pirate mermaid from Sweet Pea Stamps - She is called 'Caribbean Treasure' and can be found here - www.sweetpeastamps.com
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and added gold spica glitter pen to the earring, braclets and belt buckle. I added pearls and gold colored rhinstones to the treasure chest and the card - layered onto some Basic Grey DP and a red card base with a little distressing on the edges with walnut stain distress ink.
My DH even liked this card and he is sooo NOT into my stamping habit - I have for the most part quit asking his opinion as all I usually get is a caveman-like grunt and a shrug of the shoulders.
To this card as he walked by and saw it as I finished he says - "She's hot..." LOLOL ...me rolling eyes...."men"

All for today - going to try to get this weeks posts caught up as DH and the kids are off on friday and I have to work friday night......

Glitter Fairy

Hallo,
Another Sweet Pea card for you today - this one with a bit of glitter.
I colored her with pencils over marker for the most part - wings and moon is glitter pen over marker.
I started with light colors of marker and then layered over the top with darker colored pencils. The marker over pencil looks really great IRL - adds a bit of depth over one or the other by themselves. I used spica glitter pens over the wings and the moon - I put some in her hair too but it doesn't show up much even IRL.
I cut her out with a Spellbinders labels die - using an out-of-the-box technique and edged the panel with gold mettalic pen.
The DP is from Basic Grey and I edged it with red distress ink.
I used some paper flowers - prima I think as they were a good garage sale find...some were light colored and I colored them red to match the image and paper and then used some stickles glitter on some of them too.

I am using this for 3 challenges - 1 - 'anything goes' for Sweet Pea Stampers - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com

2 - 'anything at all' for In A Sweet Pea Dream - http://www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
3 - Copic Creations for glitter - http://www.copiccreations.wordpress.com

All for today - off to work for me....

Christmas Fairy

Hallo,
After finishing off all my 'traditional' type Christmas cards - I decided to do a few not so traditional.
I just got this image from Sweet Pea Stamps this last week and couldn't wait to use her. I pulled out some Christmas DP and colored her to match.
She is colored with prismacolor pencils and cut out using a Spellbinders labels die.
She is from a new artist over at Sweet Pea - Meredith Dillman and you can find her here - www.sweetpeastamps.com
I was sposed to get some house cleaning done today but didn't manage much - ok didn't do ANY.....
I was on a stmping roll - I did a total of 6 cards (all using this same sketch BTW).
I did get a couple errands run and got a few groceries, ran the kids to the skating center and then back to pick them up....ect., ect., ect., - and super is even in the oven (I am real good about not planning ahead for super - DH is much better at the cooking thing than I am...).
Ok - all for today - I will have a springier version of this lovely fairy for you tomorrow....
Take Care
Tera
P.S. I am using this card for challenges over at Sweet Pea Stampers - www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com
and also for In A Sweet Pea Dream - www.inasweetpeadreamchallengeblog.blogspot.com
You really should check both of them out - great stuff!!!!

Vintage postcard - blues

Hallo again,
Wednesday am and I am off to bed for awhile to sleep after work - the kids are out of school early so we might decide to go shopping for a bit....
Another round of Vintage Postcard from Flourishes - todays version in blues....
Again I used the texture folder/Cuttlebug on the base cardstock - the blue base ones are a white core paper and I did some sanding on the texture to highlight it.
Then I embellished with ribbon and some blue rhiestones or flat-backed pearls and they were ready to go.
I am really loveing this set - so easy to make a quick card and still have it look beautiful!!!

All for today...

Vintage Postcard - browns

Hallo,
I am pre-posting today as I plan on heading straight to bed this am after work... :)
More of this wonderful stamp set from Flourishes called Vintage Postcard - todays sample in browns.
Again I used the Cuttlebug and a texture folder for the base cardstock and 2 of them on the white core brown cardstock with some sanding done.
I also found these wonderful bead swirls and flourishes in my stash and they matched nicely so I added them too.
They were origionally 2 large flourishes but I cut them apart to make them stretch for all 4 cards.

All for today - sleeping and back to work tonight.....
