Here in NW Florida we usually don't get much fall. This year we have had alot of cool weather but still not much fall color, its one of the things I miss about living back home in Nebraska.
So in the last few months I have done several fall themed paintings - this is the biggest one at 16H by 20 W. In addition to encaustic I have used oil sticks. I am starting to play with my hot pens a bit more too....

This is the last and smallest painting in my Mars Rising series of encaustic mixed media paintings.
This one is 8W by 10H and I have used computer boards, rusted metal and shellac in addition to the encaustic.

Another painting in the 'Mars Rising' series - this one is titled 'Techno waste / Mars Desolation'
The Mars Rising series gives question to what happened to the Civilization that was on Mars - why is it in ruin? Can it happen to us and how do we prevent it??
Encaustic mixed media using encaustic wax, rusted metal, computer boards and shellac.
I have had alot of fun with this series - just one more to show you for now. That's not to say there wont be more in the future - but one more and that's all for now.

Second painting in my 'Mars Rising Series' - with a long tittle.
"Mars Desolated/The loss of Biodiversity'
Encaustic mixed media with computer boards, rusted metal and shellac. The sides are finished in black. The wood panel it is painted on is 20 wide by 16 tall but a couple of the computer boards stick up off the board making it about 18 inches tall.
Lots of fun texture and earthy colors, these have been fun paintings for me to do. This one is currently in Pensacola at Artel gallery for their current show but will soon be up on my Etsy site.

Just poppin in this evening to show you another rug I finished - and I will have some new finished paintings to show you over the next couple days.
I have a ton of flannel fabric that I will be using to make rugs with for awhile.
Some of the rugs I have planned to given to family but I have 2 that will be up in my Etsy shop soon.
Locker hook keeps my hands busy in the evening relaxin on the couch with the hubby watching TV - I alternate between rugs and coloring images to make cards with....
