Teal Santa

Hallo,
It has been a busy week for me - hadn't gotten much stamping/crafting done... I worked wed./sat./sun - thursday I took the kids to our local waterpark for the day with a girlfriend of mine and her kiddos, and friday the kids and I tackled some much needed (and late, spring cleaning) We took down the MANY beer steins and mugs on top of my kitchen cabinets washed them, the cabinets and the walls....you know the drill, took FOREVER - I hates to clean!!!
I did get a couple things done late friday afternoon in the craft room but too late to take pics and I can't show them until later...but I did get some stuff done to show you today. I am trying out some ideas for one of the many swaps I have joined for my Cruise in October - yippee - one of the swaps is for Christmas cards, so here is my first idea....
The shorts are a dollar stamp from Micheals - unknown at present and the Santa is from SU. I colored them all with prismacolor pencils. The punch is one of Martha's.
Looks like Santa needs some suntan oil - I can never do this Santa without making him a little 'pink' - and did you notice that I colored his shorts to match the backround paper :).
All for now - time to head off to bed...

Woodsy Mom

Hallo,
One last card for the release challenges at Gina K. It uses one of Gina K's Kindred Spirits - Moms, and the kindred spirit phrases for Mom. The 'Mom' is stamped and colored with prismacolor pencils and then cut out and popped up. This card went a little quicker for me than yesterdays - a little simplier too but I like the way it tunred out.
This card reminds me of the many. many, many hours I spent out in the woods of Germany with the kids in the sports stroller - first a single and then later a double one. Lots of walks on our own and doing Volksmarches (an organized walk - usually with food and beverages at the end - aka beer and bratwurst :).
All for today - Take Care

Peaceful Wishes

Hallo,
Another Gina K card for one of the release sketch challenges. This was done with the 'Comfort & Peace' set.
This sketch was hard for me for some reason - normally if I have a sketch to work from it goes like a breeze - this one was slow in coming. The ribbon is a garage sale find and is a nice shade of brown - about 1 shade darker than the brown cardstock. The flowers are all stamped in walnut stain ink and the words are stamped with SU's chocolate chip. I have been really liking the browns and fall colors lately.
I used the cuttlebug with nestabilities for the ovals, a white gel pen for the dots on the brown layer and a brown sharpie for the dots on the yellow layer.
All for today - Happy Monday!!

Way to go Mom

Hallo,
Another Gina K challenge card from her release party - such a fun sketch!!!
The backround paper is another piece of direct to paper that I used on one of my recent inchie cards. I used purple, teal and pink inks direct to paper and then crumbled up the paper into a ball - I then flattened it back out and swaiped gold ink over the creases.
The image is stamped in stazon and colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.
The phrase is inked in versamark and teal, stamped and embossed.
Added blue rick rack ribbon and blue rhinestones.
All stamps are Gina K.
Have a great day!!!

Amazing Mom

Hallo,
I was able to sneak off to the craft room for a couple hours today :) - DH is off fishing and the kids have friends over and they are in the pool.
This card I did for one of the release challenges from Gina K's release party last night - I couldn't be they 'live' but scanned all the good stuff this am. My credit card is having a small stroke in anticipation...
All stamps for this card are from Gina K. The back, pale yellow layer is stamped and secondstamped with walnut distress ink.
The Mom and the darker yellow layers were stamped by inking first with versamark and then walnut distress ink, stamped and embossed. Mom and the kiddos are colored in with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.
The ribbon was a plain whitte ribbon that I 'colored' by rubbing it over the walnut distress ink pad so it would match the card. Added some amber baubles as a final touch.
All for now - Hope your weekend is going well!!!

Create Butterflys

Hallo,
Anothe inchie card - tired of them yet?
I started with a 3X5 piece of white cardstock. Inked the butterflys from Inkadinkado first with versamark then teal, purple and navy ink, stamped and embossed. Next I took my brayer and added blue bayou, light blue and navy leaving a lighter spot in the middle. I then added some dragonflys in navy.
I then cut the piece into inchies and edged each edge with navy ink and glued them to the tan paper (handmade oriental paper stamped with dragonflys in navy). I then stamped a couple words (from MFT) on a couple and embellished with my white gel pen, and some clear circle stickers. Added some purple baubles to 2 corners and layered onto navy cardstock.
All for today - Happy friday!!!!

Oriental Dragonfly

Hallo,
Short note with another inchie card - I was real happy with the way this card turned out until I saw the glue showing through the handmade paper layer :(
I did this similar to yesterdays - all Inkadinkdo stamps inked with versamark and then with teal purple and navy - stamped and embossed.
The first layered of paper under the inchies is done using direct to paper with purples, blues and pinks - then crumbled, flattened back out mostly and then I used gold to highlight the wrinkles.
The tan layer is a handmade oriental paper that I used on another card without the glue showing, same glue - go figure...ah well still pretty.
Have a good day!!!

Oriental Dragonfly Inchies

Hallo ,
Short note as I worked today and am greatly anticipating some couch time :).
The kids and I went blueberry picking yesterday - got out there later than I wanted but it wasn't as hot as I feared it would be. We picked 2 gallons worth in just a couple hours - not to mention eating alot as we picked :). I froze about half and I am sure the other half won't last but a couple days... Planning on blueberry pie tomorrow.
More inchies on todays card - butterflys and dragonflys both from Inkadinkado. I inked the butterflys first with versamark and then with midnight blue, teal (both stazon) and eggplant (SU) - then stamped and embossed. Then I brayered light blue, blue bayou and not quite navy (all SU) as backround. Emnbellished the inchies with clear circle stickers and a white gel pen. The dragonfly is stamped in 'not quite navy' (SU) - embellished with silver krylon and rhinestones. Patterned paper is all oriental washi paper.
All for today - Take Care

Butterfly Inchies

Hallo,
Tried to post this yesterday but my internet connection went caput literally as I was typeing - my DH had been on the internet right before me...
It sure felt good to get some time at the craft table - I had a very busy weekend at work and a very busy morning cleaning, doing yard work ect., ect...
This card went together well until I got to the yellow layer....
All the stamps are from Inkadinkado except the word which is Stampin Up. First I inked the butterflys with versamark and then added yellow, orange and red ink, stamped it on white paper and embossed with clear powder. Then I sprayed with walnut ink spray, wiped the spray off the embossed parts and let it dry. Next I took a walnut ink pad and distressed a little using direct to paper. With the walnut ink pad I then stamped the dragonfly in a couple spots. I cut the panel into inchies and fixed them to the green panel and then embellished them with a bronze flower brad, rhinestones, a clear circle sticker, and 2 small pieces of stamped, colored and shrunk shrink paper left from another project.
This is where I got a little stuck - I layered the inchie panel to a light yellow card base and stamped the dragonfly in the corner. Thinking it looked a little blank I took a tiny flower and stamped along the edge with the same yellow, orange and red but that turned out way to bright and distracting - sooo pretending I meant to all along I cut out the panel with a yellow border as a layer. Now I pulled out the darker yellow - without glueing the inchie panel down (I learned from the first time ) I stamped the dragonfly in the corner in walnut distress ink, then stamped the flourish also in the walnut distress ink but after tapping some off so it was lighter in color. But the upper left corner still looked too blank....so I pulled out the word stamp - well that took 3 tries to get it straight and then I was finally able to glue down the inchie panel for the finished card.....
All for now - trying to get out the door to drive to a small town near us where a couple years ago we went to pick blueberries - hoping I can find the farm again today. Gotta get rollin before it gets too hot.

Inkadinkado Inchies

Hallo,
A little something I was playing with on tuesday. I used stamps from Inkadinkado. I inked the inchies with ginger and current Adirondak ink and Ranger walnut distress ink and then stamped words from a couple MFT sets in the current. The main bird was stamped same as the inchies and then the blank spaces colored with prismacolors.
The large brown layer has the birds stamped in old olive stazon ink. And then I added some green rhinstones for a little sparkle.

Cool Runnings

Hallo,
Trying to think cool thoughts here - HOT, HOT, HOT here in NW Florida again today. We had a couple little rains showers off and on today - making the humidity very high. I stayed in the house most of the day - got out early for a walk, vacumed the pool and then inside the rest of the day. The water in our pool is 97 degrees!!!
This is a stamp I have had for quite awhile and hasn't seen ink until today - I bought it with my Brother in mind (he lives in the mountains of Wyoming - rents out cabins and snowmobiles, he does alot of playing in the snow).
I colored the scene with prismacolors ans then accented with a silver metallic pen on the chrome and stickles glitter on the snow and trees. And then used my white gel pen for some accents at 2 of the corners.
All for today - Gotta work tomorrow.
