Pink Precious One

Hallo,
And welcome to Monday morning :)
I am just getting home from work and will try to get this up before I get sleepy - if things get a bit wonky you'll know why :)
Another new stamp set for me from My Favorite Things - its from the newest release due to be released on Tuesday Febr. 1st. (tomorrow :)
I got this months VIP package a couple days ago and pulled it out to play with over the weekend. I used the sweet paper pack that came with the VIP package again, and again I did some paper piecing - this time only her shirt.
The rest of the main image is colored with copics.
The frame was made by cutting out 5 tags out of the pink cardstock and arranging them behind the main image.
The rhinestones were colored to match with a matching pink copic.
I again followed this weeks sketch from MFT.
All for me today - off to sleep and back to work for one more night.....

Sketchy CSS blog hop

Hallo,
Welcome to another Gina K CSS blog hop - our challenge for this round was a really fun sketch.
If you want to start at the begining go to - http://www.stamptv.ning.com/forum/topics/center-stage-alumni-blog-hop-314

If you have been following along then you came to me from the very talented Sharri's blog - http://www.istamp4u.blogspot.com/2011/01/gina-k-css-alumni.html

Make sure to leave lots of comments along the hop because on tuesday am febr. 1 we will be drawing one lucky commenter to win a Gina K stamp set - 24.95$ or less - Good Luck!!!
I combined the CSS sketch with the new color challenge for the week at Stamp TV and came up with 3 cards for you and a start on my Valentines cards for me :)
The stamp sets from Gina K that I used include 'Block Greetings' and 'Smile'
For the first card I embossed the block greeting and phrase with a red sparkle embossing powder onto black cardstock and then edged it with gold mettallic pen. I layered 2 different ribbons - 2 strips of the sheer black with stripes and 1 strip of the ribbon with the roses. A few black flat backed pearls and all of it layered onto a white cards base finish it off.

My second card turns the sketch on its side . I used black pure luxery card stock for the base.
I embossed the polka dot frame from the 'Smile' set in red powder and layered it to red and white mesh ribbons and added some white flower brads with black polka dots.

Last but not least I embossed another block from the 'Block Greetings' set with red embossing powder onto white cardstock and edged it with gold mettalic pen (accually I first edged it with red mettalic pen but it was a duller red than the embossing and DIDNOT match at all - so I went over it with the gold.)
I layered the block on top of a red and black wide ribbon onto more black pure luxery cardstock and added a few whitte pearls .
All for me today as I am the last on the list for the hop - I hope you have enjoyed your travels today!!!

Bedtime Story

Hallo,
Sorry for the blurry pics - didn't realize how blurry tiil I had them loaded today and now I have lost daylight......the first 2 aren't too bad....
Played with the gals at my stamp group a bit today and ran some errands....
The stamp I used today is one of my newest ones from My Favorite Things - isn't she a cutie!!!!
I used the paper pack that I got with this months MFT VIP package.....and then some matching pink cardstock for the backround.
The backround was plain pink that I ran through a dot texture folder that I slightly sanded and and distressed the edges a bit.....
The main image has the bed covers, pillow, and lamp shade all paper pieced and the rest colored with copics.

I followed a sketch from this weeks sketch challenge over at the MFT forum at SCS.
All for today

Time for tea

Hallo,
Well not too much time for stamping on wednesday - had to drag myself out of bed by the scruff of the neck (I worked tuesday night) - I swear my bed grabbed my ankle at least once and threw me back into bed......
I accually finished up this card on thursday while I was hanging out with my local stamp group - the DP behind the main panels is from one of my fellow stamper stash - THANKS!!! it matches perfectly.....
I did this for a color challenge over at Stamp TV for brown, turquoise and white....
The brown panel is embossed with a texture folder that reminds me of watch gears - therefore the 'time' for tea.
All stamps are from Gina K - the cup is colored with copics, cut out and popped up.

OK - I am slowly getting caught up on my posts this week - I had a big case of the tireds/blahs ect last week and didn't get much done.
Pop in to see me saturday for another Gina K CSS blog hop - leave comments along the hop and you might win a stamp set from Gina K!!!!

White Fairy Princess

Hallo,
I have a Sweet Pea card for you today - this one was done for the current challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers for 'All white except for the image' - see more here -
www.sweetpeastampschallenge.blogspot.com

I colored her with copics and cut her out with a Spellbinders labels die - she is layered on a white card base that was first run through a texture folder (I thought the flowers in the texture folder looked like the ones in her hair). Next I swiped the texture folder with embossing ink and used a white sparkly powder. Added a white ribbon and a bunch of white flat-backed pearls, then I also used white liquid pearls on the dots in the flowers, on her wings and face....
Well that's all for today - I have several projects started in the craft room to get back to :)

Cheer Memories

Hallo,
Just a short post for you - back posting as I didn't get to it before working the last couple days...
I did this box with memory book for a neighbor girl - I meant to have it done earlier in the school year ....at least I got it to her before she graduated....
I used a cigar box and covered it with DP - school colors are green and white for the most part - varsity cheerleaders uniforms are black with green trim....
I found an easy way to glitter up the letters - I had some spray adhesive and layed out the letters on my nonstick craft sheet and just sprayed them and then picked them up with tweezers and turned them over into a pile of glitter that I had in a bead tray.....worked pretty good....
The stamps are from Gina K - colored with copics.
The memory book is chipboard covered with some of the same papers as the box and more glitter letters - I also made up a few cheer uniforms, megaphones and jackets cut out individually to add to the pages....
The inside of the box is lined with a geeen sparkle fabric and I used some of the same fabric cut in strips for some of the ribbons...

All for today.....

Baby boy Memory box and book

Hallo,
I have another baby box set to show you today - it is very similar to yesterdays only not personalized.
This box set with go up on my ETSY site later today....
I love making these boxes and really need to do more - I have 2 girl ones planned for sometime soon as one of my coworkers wants one (and I often do 2 at once....).
I have all kinds of ideas like this for my now huge stash of cigar boxes....now just need more time :)
All the stamps used are from Gina K Designs - Wee Tee's , Lovely Labels 1, and Tag lines sets.
The first picture is of the gift card.
The second and fourth pictures are of the inside of the box with the book, card and a small packet of little onsies stamped with different phrases to use when decorating the book - for example if you have a great spit- up picture there is a onsie that says 'Spit Happens' and if you have a great photo of the little man with his Dad there is a onsie that says 'My Dad Rocks'.
It just tickles me - I have one planned for my DD because I have a great picture of her Dad wearing his military chem gear (aka gas mask) while holding her and one of the stamps in the Wee Tees set has a little skunk and says - of course - 'Little Stinker'

Anyway the third picture is of the top outside of the box....
I got my Nieces box in the mail this am, went up to the HS for annual parent/teacher conferance, got groceries and even had a bit of time in the craft room this am - I really should try to take my poor pooch for a walk before I get my pre-night shift nap....we'll see if I can dig up some motivation.... it is cold, damp and windy out today....
Take Care and have a great weekend - not sure if I will post tomorrow or not.....kinda depends on weather I go for a walk or go finish the project I am working on in my craft room.....

Zach's box

Hallo,
I had some fun in the craft room today between errands and finally managed to get the baby memory box and book done for my DH's Niece and her DH for their new baby.....only about 2 weeks late.....
I love making these - I start with a wood cigar box and a chipboard book from Tim Holtz and cover them with matching/coordinating papers. Then I pull out this adorable stamp set from Gina K called Wee Tee's and I use it to decorate the front of the book and the top of the box. Then I stamp up a bunch of extra onsies with phrases so they can be used to decorate the book and match up with photos of Mom and Dad and such....
The first pic is of the matching card...the second one is the inside of the box with the book - I used glimmer mist on the chipboard letters to personalize it for baby Zach.
The last photo is the top, outside of the box.
I also used 2 other stamp sets from Gina K called Lovely Labels 1 and Tag Lines, a couple Spellbinders dies too and some great ribbons from my stash....

That's all for me today - going to get this wrapped up so I can send it tomorrow.

Shiny Brights

Hallo,

Lesson for the day - never try to shop online after working a 12 hour night shift!!!! I got an email from 'My Favorite Things' stamp company this am about the monthly VIP special and didn't want to miss out (as they are sometimes sold out by later in the day) so I decided to go ahead and order before I went to bed this am....and browsed a bit and added a couple more things, and got sleepy and was nodding off, but was determined to get my order in so I pressed on....and ended up at the end of my order hitting the 'place order' button not just twice but 3 times - AAkkk - now I would have been able to use the extras as gifts down the road but the budget didn't really allow for that kind of ooops at this time.....Fortunately for me Kim at MFT is a total doll!!!! I emailed her as soon my head hitting the keyboard woke me enough to realize what I just did , and she was sweet enough to cancel the 2 extra orders for me..... I am such a durf sometimes LOL. So no more am-after-working-night-shift shopping for me!!!!

Thanks Kim!!!!

Ok on to todays cards - would you believe more Christmas cards - at this rate all my 2011 cards will be done by May..... :)

The challenge over at Flourishes forum on SCS this month is to recycle/reuse something you got at Christmas - well one of my kiddos electronic type presents had this great silver glossy cardstock as part of the packaging material - already did one card with it and today finished off 4 more....

I love the ornaments from this Flourishes set - they remind me of Shiny Brights and so I went with that - white, gold, red, blue and antique photo distress embossing powders onto the silver cardstock for some Shiny Bright cards....
I may need to 'find' some more silver glossy cardstock!!!!
All for today - Hope to have some major crafting time tomorrow so I will see you then!!

Antique Doves

Hallo,
I have a card using a stamp from Flourishes for you today - they have a monthly Christmas card challenge in their forum over at SCS for Christmas cards - what a great way for my to get cards done ahead of the Christmas rush!!! (and possibley win more stamps from Flourishes!!) This months theme is to recycle/reuse something from Christmas 2010 - well my first card for the challenge was stamped on the pattern on the inside of a bill envalope :)....todays card is stamped on some mettalic silver cardstock that was part of the packageing material from one of my kids electronic type gifts for Christmas - it was a nice big sheet too so I have at least one other card planned with it too :).
I had trouble deciding what color to emboss the doves with but then spied the copper and brown scrap in my pile and went with that - the antique photo distress embossing powder matched perfectly!!!
I edged the DP with silver mettalic pen and added some silverish sparkley rhinestones and all done....
All for today - last night to work and need to get to my craft room tomorrow to finish up a baby gift!!!!

Cigar Boxes

Hallo,
Just stopping in for a quick moment this Sunday am to show you what I found this week....I was playing around on Craigs list and found someone who was selling a boatload of cigar boxes, said she wanted between 1 and 5 $ apiece for them......so I emailed her and asked if they were in good shape, how many and if they were wood or cardboard and ultimately if she would make a deal for the whole lot.....
I find cigar boxes now and then at thrift shops and garage sales but often they are priced too high - I rarely pay more that 1 or 2 dollars for even the nicest wooden ones because I am cheep.....
So I ended up driving about 20 minutes and buying this treasure trove of cigar boxes.....for less than $1.50 each mind you...91 in all, only 3 were not wooden and in very good shape.....I was tickled pink as the saying goes....

I do have to say though that I think if I squeeze one more item into a nook or cranny in my craft room that it will definitely EXPLODE!!!!
All for today - will have some craft stuff pre-posted or ready to write up when I get home from work the next few mornings.....

Red Clementis

Hallo,
Just a quick post for you today - much I still want to do in the craft room and dinner to get ready too......
Another card for the Timeless Tuesday blog hop going on over at Flourishes - check it out here - www.flourishes.org/2011/01/flourishes-timeless-tuesday-100th-blog-hop/
The challenge for Timeless Tuesday this time was to use our favorites - well all my Flourishes stamps are my favorite but as this is one of my newest sets it one of my newest favorites... :)
I did a couple cuttlebug layers with coredinations paper and lightly sanded off to get the color underneath. Then I stamped the clementis with red ink and cut it out with 3 Spellbinders dies from the same label set - discarded the middle layer so some of the red would show through. Then I cut out a couple more clementis to layer on top. Spellbinders, my cuttlebug, and white flatbacked pearls that I color with my copics are more of my favorites!!!!
I am backposting this post and yesterdays as I didn't get to them with all my errands and such - not sure that will work for the hop but thought I would show you anyway.....
