Bright fall

Hallo,

  A quick post this am before I head off to that work thing.

  Tried something a bit different here - 2 things actually and the first you really can't see anymore.

  First, I tried a wood glue burn - I drew the tree with wood glue and some spot in the grasses too and then burned them with the torch. I saw this technique on Utube......I then colored it all with pan pastels per the video, but I really didn't like how it looked.

  I then decided to paint it with encaustic - background is with brushes and then all the tree, leaves and grasses are done with the hot pen and encaustic. Gave me a whole new appreciation for the Artists who use pointillism!!!!!

Bee buzz I

Hallo,

  Starting a new small series with this painting. I used a cyanotype print (didn't color the flowers in). I then glued the print to a hexagon board panel and painted with encaustic. 

  I painted the bees with encaustic also, using a fine tip hot pen. I then added some color to the flowers around the bees with pan pastels.

  Look for a few more of these to come.

Wildflowers I

Hallo,

   Another wildflower painting for you today. I  started with a cyanotype print as with the first one but instead of coloring the flowers with pan pastels I painted them totally in encaustic.

   Almost the same painting but the pastels give a much softer look and this one is a sharper look.

  Short and sweet for today - have to head in and do that work thing!!!
