Hallo,
I had fun making this card :) - I did it for a challenge over at Stamp TV which was to make a patriotic card but not to use red or blue.
Well my DD is going to college this fall with an Army ROTC scholarship so I decided to use army type colors.
First I used several inks and sponged the camouflage background onto a gray paper. Then I took out Gina K's 'masculine tags' set for the stamps. This set coordinates with one of the Spellbinders labels die sets so I used the largest die in the set to cut a layer from map paper.
I stamped the label stamp twice - once with olive green onto tan paper and once onto gray paper and embossed in black.
I cut the green/tan layer with a Spellbinders die and the next layer I fussy cut around the wings portion - leaving a bit of cardstock so I could edge it with silver metallic pen.
I embossed the phrase in silver and then layed out all my layers......well the start needed a bit of something so I stamped the stamp again onto the camouflage paper and just cut out the start portion....the camo paper wasnot long enough so I cut it sideways and even though the portions lined up you could see the line so I started looking for some ribbon to match - brown didn't look good, anything gray or tan I had was of the lace variety so that didn't work but then the light bulb went off :) - love it when it does that!!!! I had some military paracord that would work - even in tans and gray :) so I cut a section and then took out the center strings and used it as my ribbon and a little accent below the star....a few pearl accents with a bronze viva décor pen and all done.....
Well I guess I had better get a move on and get out for my morning walk and do some of the housecleaning that I neglected all last week......and the sooner I get at it the sooner I can get to the craft table.......
Have a great week!!!!

Mojo Sketch
Hallo,
Looking like another rainy morning but that would be great for me today - I am headed off to bed to sleep for the day after working last night.
My DH and I got caught in the rain on yesterdays walk - came home soaked but it was nice and warm and no lightening so it was kinda fun :)
I did this card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge - they are celebrating 300 challenges and are giving away a ton of prizes, including a gift certificates/prizes from several of my favorite companies - Flourishes, My Favorite Things, Stamping Bella, Verve.....
Check out all the fun here - http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2013/07/mojo-monday-300-celebration.html
For my card today, I used the single tulip from
Flourishes 'Tulips for friends' set and colored it with prismacolor pencils.
The phrase is from one of my new sets from Gina K called 'Posterboard Sentiments'
The top 3 layers were cut with Spellbinders dies and I made some pearl accents with a cream viva décor pen.
This card is going out to a dear friend who recently lost her DIL. I wish I would keep some sympathy cards made up, I don't like to have to try and do one when its needed.....
Have a great weekend!!!

Have a beautiful day!!!
Hallo,
How is your weekend going so far - looks like its going to rain a lot again here, maybe get a break long enough for a walk....
Another card I finished off yesterday - with all the rain in the last 3/4 days I had done a lot of coloring and spent some time making cards yesterday (hope to make a few more today too :)
I used this great stamp from Flourishes again in shades of yellow and gray - actually its a kindof kraftish colored gray but its really pretty and when I cut out the doily I edged it and the other gray layer both with white craft ink.
I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and found some vintagey yellow DP to go with it for the phrase tag and under the doily.
I made this up for the current Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes which is to make a circle shaped card. Check out the challenge here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
All for today - hopefully I am out for a walk next and after a bit of house cleaning, maybe back to the craft room before I have to get my pre-night shift nap :)

Bright tulips for a rainy day/week....
Hallo,
Well I don't usually do 2 posts in one day but its raining and has been raining for DAYS!!!!! I think we have had more rain in the last 3/4 days than we have had in the last 3/4 years.
We did get out for a good long walk before the rain settled in for the day this am and puppy and I got a short walk yesterday afternoon but puppy is restless, we even managed to shoot off some fore works last evening between some light showers.....
But it does make for some good crafting time (though I should do some house work...) - prior to today I have spent my time between coloring and working on my DD's lockerhook rug, so today I decided it was time to get a few cards made.
This first card is for the new release challenge over at Flourishes - www.flourishes.org/blog/ you may want to check it out because if you play along you could win this months entire release!!!!
I used one of my newer stamp sets from Flourishes and colored it with prismacolor pencils. I love tulips - especially the red and orange ones, sadly they don't grow well here in NW Florida (too hot).
I paired them up with some red DP that has some orange swirls in it and added base cardstock, doily layer and ribbon in blue to match how I colored the vase. The blue is a brighter turquoise blue and it was hard to match. I also added some pearl drops with a tulip fabric pen and some flowers that were white until I inked them up and spritzed them with water.
All in all it is a bright and cheery card for this rainy day :)
Have a great weekend!!!! I work the next 2 night but will have something to show you tomorrow and maybe sunday too :)

Dragonfly Fantasy
Hallo,
My first post as a Sweet Pea Stampers DT member - this challenge was for Team A and I am Team B but decided to play along anyhow - I have had some good coloring time lately :)
Well the challenge this time around over at Sweet Pea Stampers is 'for the men/boys'. Check out the challenge here - http://thesweetpeastampers.blogspot.co.uk/
I figure the menfolk are always into sweet and sexy mermaid chics so that's what I did this time around :) There are plenty of sweet mermaid images to chose from over at Sweet Pea Stamps here -http://sweetpeastamps.com/
I used Ching Chou Kuik's 'Dragonfly Fantasy' and colored her with prismacolor pencils.
I cut the layers with a couple Spellbinders dies and used a couple matching ribbons and some pearl drops with a Viva Décor pen for accents.
All for today - I hope you have a great weekend!!!

I colored both with prismacolor pencils and used some starry DP and a patriotic ribbon.
We used to do a lot of camping as kids on holidays weekends and we often had a flag set up at the campsite so of course I had to do that :)
Well its a rainy morning here so may not be any fireworks for us tonight but I see some craft time for me today :)
Have a great 4th of July!!!

Fishin again :)
Hallo,
Just about to get out the door for a walk this am - with all the thunderboomers that passed through our area last night it is nice and cool this morning and puppy is rowdy and ready to go.
I did this card for the current challenge over at Flourishes - the challenge is to 'make a splash' anything to do with water. Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog
I used this sweet stamp from Flourishes and embossed it onto DP with 'vintage photo' distress powder and added some DP and tags from a pack of paper I had had for quite awhile. I accented with some bronze colored pearl drops from a viva décor pen.
All for this am - walk, get groceries, do some house cleaning, craft time??, nap and then work tonight - have a great week!!!
