Labrinth Basket

Hallo,
Thanksgiving weekend the Hubby and I drove to spend the weekend with my Daughter, SIL and Grandbaby - about a 5 to 6 hour drive without stops depending on traffic.
Just like sitting on the couch in the evenings, I have to keep my hands busy.
The first picture is about an hour or hour and a half into this basket.
The base on this one is made of polymer clay that I molded into a steel desktop labyrinth that is patterned after the one inside the Chruch in Chartreuse France. I used a drill to make the holes to attach the coil. I used a paper coil and some hemp twine (1mm size).
The beads were made by molding plaster cloth over a paper straw and when it was dry I used strips of sari silk dipped in encaustic. The beads are a darker turquoise than what is in the cording with a touch of gold accents.
I worked on this on the drive to and finished it off our second evening at the Airbnb. It is about 2.5 inches deep and about 7 inches round.
All for today - Take Care.
         Tera
