Toning cyanotypes

Hallo,
I have been playing with cyanotypes alot lately and today I am going to show you some of my experiments with toning them.
To change the color from blue to grays or brown you first bleach out the blue with washing soda (good ol fashioned '20 mule team').
First picture is the original print which turned out a bit dark for me. So I bleached it back a bit with the washing soda which is the second picture.
Then once bleached and rinsed you put them in a bath of tea, coffee, wine tannins or any number of other things - those are the most common - and leave them until they take on the amount of color that you want.
The third picture was toned with coffee and the fourth was toned with wine tannins.
All for today - Take Care
       Tera
