Tangled roots

Hallo,

Well, that's the title for now anyway. This is what happens when you find a chunk of wood laying on the side of the road and it  challenges you to make something with it. (first pic - measures about 6 inches wide by 22 tall and 2.5 inches deep)

I made the tree with paperclay - second photo. Then I added a few plaster strips on the top half - 1 for some extra strength and 2 so I would have a white background to paint on(third pic)

Then I painted with encaustic paint and added details with encaustic and a hot pen.

Fun little experiment - will go to a show at Artel in Pensacola in a week or so.

  Take Care

       Tera
