Appaloosa

Hallo,
I thought you might be getting tired of baskets so.....
First part of sept. I took a photo encaustic class at Eaton's Ranch in north central Wyoming.
Best of two worlds for me - art and horses. We got to ride almost every day and then pop over to the studio for class.
This painting uses 3 of my photos. The horseshoe background was printed on cardstock and glued to the wood panel. I then added several layers of encaustic for textures and to tone the background down a bit.
The next 2 photos of the horse and the skull and antlers were isolated and printed onto tissue paper and then embedded into the wax. I then added more encaustic to accent and add more elements.
I have always been a big fan of appaloosa horses - lots of color and patterns.
I finished off a total of 4 paintings in the weeklong class so more to come.
             Take Care
                Tera
