More Inchies

Hallo,
Another card with inchies today...The top inchie is a left over piece from and unknown backround technique with a little oriental charm attatched, the middle inchie uses left over strips from another backround technique on washi paper with a small punched crane, the bottom inchie is part of an oriental vase. The inchies and main image are all edged with silver krylon, layered on blue which is also edged in silver, layered onto black and white patterned washi paper, then onto white, black and the base is the same blue as the other layers. For the dots I put clear plastic domes onto the same black and white washi paper, cut them out and glued them into place.
I warn ya I seem to be in inchie mode - you will be seeing alot of them .... I am trying to use up my scrap paper stock - so on the couch at night I am cutting paper - the cardstock first gets cut to ATC size and then to inchie size, now I have base ATC and inchies to pull out any time I want!!! For now I am only cutting cardstock and small pieces of DP - leaving the larger pieces of DP for layers.....

Oriental Inchies

Hallo,
I finally got some time at the craft table!!!! I started this card by doing an oriental scene on a scrap of white measureing 3" X 5" - colored it with prismacolor pencils, and then cut the scene into inchies. I edged each inchie with gold krylon. I pulled out 3 inchies, added 3 different inchies back in to coordinate with the scene. I then layered them on oriental wahsi paper, red cardstock, another layre of the same washi, and then to the base cardstock of red. I edged the layers with gold krylon, added a dark brown piece of ribbon, and 3 dew drops to match.
Not that many people read my little blog here (yet) but if anyone reading lives in the Fort Walton Beach, Florida area wants or knows anyone who wants an adorable kitten (about 3-5 months old) Please contact me!!! My DH and I went for a walk this am and came across this kitten stuck in a small tree. Considering the extreme heat here this week - I just could not leave this kitten on his own - knocked on a couple doors but noone near where we found him would claim him or wanted him. I cannot keep him as we have 3 cats and a dog of our own but he is very loving and gentle.
All for today - time to get in the pool for a bit...

Pirate's

Hallo,
No crafting today - the Annual Billie Bowlegs pirate festival was this weekend - today was the day the Pirates land and take over the town. The first picture is the boat "Blackbeard" - the Pirates came in on 3 other boats and 'fought the town militia, and then the Mini militia (huge group of kids in pirate outfits) but in the end the Pirates won the town over with offers of 'Booty' - beads, frisbies, coins, cups... :).
We went early and staked out a spot in the shade and had funnel cakes and snow cones :)

P.S. The second pic is of a house across the waterway that looked to be the top party spot of the day :). It is located directly across the water from the pier that the Pirates landed on...

A Day Off

Hallo,
It felt sooooo good to have a day off - I worked the last 5 days in a row (all 12 hour shifts), I was soo whooped when I got home last night - crazy busy days too....
Didn't get too much time at the craft table - had yard and house work to do, errands to run and my DD had an orthodontist appointment.... One of my errands was to take a batch of stuff to the base thrift shop to consign and of course I always have to take a quick turn through to see if there is anything 'good' - and of course I found something.
I found these 4 little bottles - about 5 inches tall, 4 wide and about an inch deep, they look old and are slightly green colored. I just loved the little design in the glass along the bottom.
I wonder what they used to hold and how old they might be. If anyone stops in today and has seen these somewhere before let me know what they might be - other than very pretty for sitting in my window.
All for tonight - hope to have something crafty to show ya tomorrow.

Father's Day wallet cards

Hallo,
I started on my Father's Day cards over the holiday weekend. I managed to finish up 3 of them today (I am making a total of about 15 - cause I send not just to my Step-Dad but friends of ours who happen to be Dads too). (Both mine and DH's Dads are no longer with us)
This is a wallet card that I found the pattern for on SCS. I thought this Cuttlebug folder would make it look like snakeskin or fancy leather. I used the Cuttlebug Smoosh technique from Technique Junkies - ie brayered ink on the inside of the cuttlebug folder and then run it through the cuttlebug with the paper. I used manly looking brads for accents - the accual closure device is small round velcro spots (found in the sewing notions area of JoAnn's).
The first picture is gray paper with green distress ink. The second is gray paper with ginger adirondak ink and shows the inside. The third picture is green paper with the ginger ink.
The last picture for the day was what I got in the mail today - my advance copy of the June/July Stamplers Sampler. This is my first time getting published - I sent 3 batches of cards at the same time (one to Stamplers Sampler and 2 to Take Ten) - these were my first attempts at getting published so am really doing the Happy Dance!!! (And I am confident that my advance copy of Take Ten will come tomorrow - LOL - hey sometimes wishes DO come true :).
My card is the top right-hand one on page 48.
All for today - I work the next 2 days so hope to get some craft time on friday....

Sunday Purple

Hallo,
Short note with a card today - I need to get some yard work done before it gets much hotter - 80% humidity and already 80 degrees....summer in Florida.
I did this card for Gina K's release challenge last week using her Kindred Spirit 'Racheal' - I really like this stamp although MY frig is much more crowded than this one LOL.
I am hoping to get a couple hours at the craft table today - gotta get Father's Day cards done!!!

Awards Night

Hallo,
A couple photos for the family from the Middle School Awards night. The first is DD with her art awards and pictures - only the top left one isn't hers.
The second photo as you may notice is of a reluctant DS - not only did he not want his pic taken but didn't want to stand next to "her".
Aarrrgggg.
They both won several awards.
The last 2 photos are of a card I made for this weeks release from Gina K, done with Gina K's kindred spirit 'Rachel'. Tis one was done in 70's colors - prismacolor pencils...
All for now - time to get in the pool with the kids!!!
