Birthday Butts

Hallo,
Quick little prepost for you today, as I am at work.....
Did this card last week as a Birthday card for one of my DD's friends.
The main image is from Mo's Digital Pencil - colored with copics and cut out.
The Zebra butts stamp is left over from the cigar box I did earlier this week so my DD asked me to put in on her friedns Birthday card :) - I don't know who made the stamp - its about 3 or 4 years old to me, unmounted and before I kept track of that kinda stuff (preblog....). Colored with copics also.

Lace and Tea

Hallo,
I am off to work today but will leave you with a little something I finished yesterday.
This is a card for a challenge over at Flourishes blog. They are celebrating the opening of their new web store all week with challenges. I am 2 for 2 so far but that just may be all I get done....I work the next 2 days and then teach a class at work on friday....

This card morphed quite a bit from my original plan but I love the way it turned out. I was digging through my stash of old ribbons and trim and couldn't find the perfect ones.....then I remembered that I had the lace stamps. So the backround is stamped with 2 of the lace trims from the Flourishes set. I also stamped the green colored one on the edge of the main image too and then lined it up to the trim in the backround.
The main image was stamped in walnut distress ink and then colored with my copics. Wasn't sure how that was going to work but I was careful and the paper I was using is super absorbent so it sucked up alot of ink - which I think helped it not to smear. I wanted the walnut stain instead of my usual memento black for a more vintage look.

I was trying for peach colored roses and got a little more orangey than I wanted but it was the best I could get with about an hour of playing. Came up with a weird kinda copic combo too - for the roses I used YR61, YR02, R22 and E08. I got a very light peach using more of the flesh tones and mixing pink and orange but I wanted just a tensy bit darker and I got close to what I envisioned...
I used the R22 and E08 to color the pearls to match too.

Happy Fishin' Day

Hallo,
The rain seems to be holding off here for the moment so I think I am going to try and get some yard work done today....
I am going to use this card for 3 different challenges today - first being the one from Mo's Digital Pencil to use blue, brown and a neutral. The main image is from Mo's - colored with copics.
The second this weeks sketch from CPS - www.cardpostioningsystems.blogspot.com That is where I got the idea for the 3 circles - kinda a modified spotlight technique.

And the third challenge is todays from Flourishes - the Timeless Tuesday challenge #57 - to make a card full of celebration. And of course here we are celebrating Father's Day. Zebra Butts

Hallo,
Well I didn't get much going on my 'big' project yet - did manage to pull out stamps and do some initial planning so maybe I will get started tomorrow.
I did however get another cigar box altered. I found this one at a thrift shop with the felt lining already in it - it is a Zebra print so I went with that.
The Zebra on the cover is from Stamps Happen - www.janlynn.com
I colored him with copics - it is accually part of the stamp.
The other pattern on the cover is a stamp from Outlines Rubber stamps - www.outlinesrubberstamp.com which is also colored with copics in a gray striped kinda thing to compliment the zebra.


The little postage style stamp of 'Zebra butts" is an unknown unmounted - If anyone knows who makes (or made it) please give me a shout.
I stamped many of these and colored them with copics and put them all around the edges on the outside of the box.
The third picture shows off the 'zebra butts' better :) and features a stamp of mama and baby zebra from CHF - www.cornishheritagefarms.com - also colored with copics.

All for today - should do a bit of picking up before dinner. My DD is doing the cooking tonight :) - I am very glad some days that she loves to cook. I also cruely forced my kiddos to do some extras housework today so I could get some errands done - mean 'ol Mom.
I should have done yard work instead of errands however as it looks like it might try and rain tomorrow -
ahhh well - plentty of housework still to catch up on....

Courage

Hallo,
My last from my card frenzy last weekend - trying to use up all the backrounds and stuff I have stashed everywhere. This is a Double Pocket fold technique from Technique Junkies that I folded over 2 years ago when that issue came out. (I was staying at my Mom's for awhile when she had surgery and found this 12 X 12 paper pack at a LSS, had the latest issue of TJ in my suitcase and the rest is history - I still have about 14 of these to go....).
I had my new stamps out from Gina K from working on her challenge contest for March Designer so I used them again. I really LOVE the lovely labels set - it coordinates with Spellbinders labels sets which I also LOVE!!!!
My bead row on the front is crooked I just now noticed - ahhh well, how I could have not noticed when I was taking the pics????
I really love this phrase too - its from the 'Hang in there" set.

Each of us....

Hallo,
I am off to work again today but will prepost my last entry for the Gina K's Desinger Spotlight contest for the March release. Maybe 3 will be my lucky number!!!
The challenge was to use 2 of the new colors and 1 of the new sets from the Februray release. I used the Lovely labels on all 3 entries but on this one I also used the new free set when you buy 3 called 'Inside and Out'. The colors I used were the mint green and pink (although it looks lavender in these pics for some reason) and I also used pale yellow with the ribbon.

Little Pearl Blessings

Hallo,
I hope everyone had a great weekend - I did (any weekend I don't have to work is great for me :).
I am showing you another card I got
finished for Gina K's Center Stage Spotlight challenge.
At least I hope it works as we needed to use a different set for each entry - I used the Lovely Labels on my last card but the last one also used the Hang In There set.....
The 2 colors I used were lavender and mint green - at least the lighter parts of the green in this DP looks minty to me......

I really love the Lovely Labels set - so cool how they match up with the Spellbinders labels dies!!!! The labels dies are my favorite of the Spellbinders - I have almost all of them - the new ones are on order and should be here soon!!!!
The DP is Basic Grey, inks are Stampin up, flat backed pearls are a Dollar Store score a few months ago (I bought them out, and went to the other one in town and they didn't have any or I would have bought them out too :).
Purple ribbon is from My Favorite Things - colored with the same ink as the phrase. Bottom ribbon is a 'who know where I got that one from '....
All for today - as I was off the weekend that means I am working today and tomorrow. Wish me luck - every day I have worked lately has turned into a 13 hour shift instead of the normal 12 hour shift....
