Just Ducky

 Hallo,
   Well I managed a little time in the craft room today - finished off a card for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog - which is to use a favorite phrase. Well I don't have any phrase stamps from IO so I wrote this one out by hand - I saw this on a t-shirt recently and kinda liked it. Its sposed to be like a vision check poster....
  I used this duck stamp from Impression Obsession called - 'Just Ducky' #F7039 and colored it with copics. I then cut it out and layered it on top of the phrase and some DP.
  Alright - gotta get off the computer now and get some super made :)

Flag Ceremony

 Hallo,
   I got up early this am and went over to the High School - The ROTC kids did a Flag ceremony in Remembrance of 9-11. They did a really nice job.
   My DS Jack is front on the right and DD is second on the left.
   All for now - hope to be back with some craft stuff later - after yard work and a bit of house work....

Monday evenoing swim meet

  The first 5 are of Paula and the last 5 are of Jack. Both kids took time off last years meet times - Paula took big ol chunks off her times!!!

Welcome Neighbor

Hallo,
   I have a quick card for you today - finished it off last night and took pictures this afternoon after my seminar, while waiting to get off to work.
   I did this card for my new neighbors and baked some cupcakes to go with it. I also did it for the first of the release week challenges over at Flourishes - www.flourishes.org/blog/
   I tried and tried to find a little bow of some type to fit on this card to match up better with the sketch but nothing I tried looked right so this card is bowless :)
   The stamp is from Flourishes of course and is colored with copics - I cut the main image in a simple square and distressed the edges. I used some viva decor pen accents in the corners and 2 scraps of DP from my bulging scrap drawer.
   Well I had better get out the door - going to be a long night as I didnt get a nap today (but the education seminar I went to today is a really good one for minimal cost and they also provide a great lunch so win, win - education hours that I need plus a yummy lunch!!!)

Swim Team pics

 Hallo,
   Well I haven't done much crafting this week - been on puppy duty :) - she is such a sweet little thing and very smart!!! Worked a bit and cleaned house a bit.....
   I went to sign up for some classes this afternoon - our local 'Center for lifelong learning' and tomorrow I am helping with the main registration day. I am going to take a wax painting class and a basic digital photography class. I thought about taking a couple others but figured I would limit it to 2 classes this time so I can at least have a chance at staying organized :).
   Saturday I am in a all day Nursing conferance for education hours and then work sat and sunday nights so I won't be getting much done for crafts this week.....
   Todays pictures are Swim Team pics taken this am on the beach (at about 645 am BTW)
In the group picture Paula is on the left edge in a green sweatshirt, and Jack is on the right in the back in a black shirt.

Thomas birdhouse

Hallo,
  Well it has been a busy Labor Day weekend for me - mainly just running after puppy :).I have yet to figure out a way to block off the cat food and kitty litter so that the puppy can't get to it but the cats can.
  My sweet 21 year old meow doesn't jump well anymore and any space I leave that is big enough for the cats to get through  - well the pup is small enough to get through too.
  And the pup is a smart little whipper snapper too - I closed off the baby gate completely at one point leaving a windy path through the closet around the vacuum cleaner and out into the open again but she saw one of the cats navigate it and immediately followed.....LOL - this is going to be a challenge!!!
   The pup also saw my old meow walk up the pet steps onto my bed and followed her right up - and I don't want the puppy up on the bed (puppy on bed not too bad but full grown dog - a whole nother story :)....but Miss Kyna (puppy) seems to have learned not to get up on the bed but she is very persistent about getting to the cat food....anybody have any ideas????

   Well I did manage to get a little bit of time in the craft room this weekend - just not much (although I did get some yard work done and some house cleaning too).
   This is a birdhouse (decorative only) made from a children's book of Thomas the Tank Engine - I used the books cover for the 'roof' and decorated foam core with pages from the book for the sides and bottom. This books cover was in pretty good shape but had some pages torn out and was destined to be thrown away so it was nice to be able to make something out of it!!! Thomas was a BIG TIME FAVORITE of both my kiddos when they were young.!!!!
   I used some thin twine for the hanger and decorated the edges with it too - and then made a circle out of twine for the 'hole ' in the birdhouse.
  I used a sweet little stuffed bird on the stick 'perch' and a little wooden mouse for decoration up on the roof.
  Alrighty - all for me today - gotta get ready to work tonight (I was sooooo hoping to get a phone call that they wouldn't need me tonight!!! but that doesn't happen much :)

Puppy Love

 Hallo,
    Well finally got to bring this little sweetheart home today from the shelter - she is pretty mellow for a puppy and seems very smart. She would love nothing better than for the kitties to play with her - old meow put her in her place right off the bat with a 'leave me alone till I get to know you better' and the 2 youngins' are still in hiding even though they are double her weight....
   She is just a little sweetie and has definatly brought out the 'puppy' in my 16 year old son :).
   And knowing my DD - missy puppy will be sleeping in her bed the minute she winmpers by herself tonight :)
   I taught  a class at work this am and picked miss Kyna (key-na) up on my way home. Once the kids got home from school I did manage to get a bit of a nap - so now its off to work tonight.
