Drummer Blue

Hallo,
It is 130 am monday morning and I cannot believe I am awake....last night I didn't post for Sunday because I was falling asleep at the computer at 830 so put myself to bed at 9 (I put in 10 hours of varnishing and painting yesterday trying to get my kitchen done.....not done yet but close). I woke at midnight - BING - wide awake thinking of everything I needed to get done tomorrow and the rest of the week and wondering if I will be able to get it all done .....it will get done eventually but I do have to work the next 2 nights.....so things won't get done as quick as I would like and certainly with not much crafting time - pout.....
Ah well - no use pouting (even if I did a little)....
Todays card is done with stamps from Flourishes.
I stamped the Drummer Boy onto white cardstock and colored him with copics and then cut him out.
I layered him to a Spellbinders die cut out of DP - stamped and embossed the phrase with gold EP and layered it all to more DP also stamped and embossed with gold Ep - the holly leaves.
I love using blues for Christmas cards.....
I have about 40 Christmas cards made so far - 1 craft fair to go to this friday so after that I can figure out how many more cards I need to make this year. I send out almost 80 cards and I make them all - alot of them will be simple cards but close family and stamping/craft buddies always get something a bit fancier. I would make tham all fancy if I could .....
All for tonight - back to bed to try and get some sleep.....

Craft Fair finds

Hallo,
Before I started working on the cabinets today, I made a quick run to a local craft fair and found a couple really cool things - thought I would show you....
The first is this great bag made from old bank bags :) - really nicely done with bits of lace and trim as well as some coins from overseas (before the Euro ). And the inside is finished really nice too!!!
Next is a little hanging thing for jewelry - I came back to this booth 3 times before I could decide which one I wanted - every time I looked at them I saw something new - so I had to get several pics to show off the details. These are done on old cupboard doors BTW - such a cool idea!!! I May even have to try to do a few (not with my kitchen cabinet doors - promise) - after all I have a ton of stuff just like this in my craft room....problem is I would spend forever arranging and rearranging.....and then I wouldn't be able to decide which means I would end up doing about 6......I have enough projects lined up already!!!!
Alright I gues my break is over - put the first coat of varnish on the cabinets while DH painted after I got back from the craft fair and now it is time to do some sanding......you know what I will be thinking of.....I swear I can't get those doors outta my head!!!! I can just see them as Christmas presents for a few folks....

Hallo,
Just a short note today - after 7 and 1/2 hours of painting and staining, I am WORN OUT!!!!
I am also suffering from withdrawal because I have not even stepped into my craft room in days.....ahh poor pitiful me......
I did this card awhile back - All stamps from Gina K - colored with copics.....
I am off to my nice hot bathtub now and then to bed.....

Sweet Inchies

Hallo,
Raining again here this am so taking a small bit of computer time before I start prepping to paint and ect. - Will I ever get this project done?!!!!!
I am showing you another card from my stash - did this one awhile ago.....
The main image is from 'Sweet Pea' stamps. Colored with copics.
I then cut the image into inchies and layered them to a piece of DP cut with a Spellbinders label die - I edged each inchie with dark blue ink. That panel was layered to dark blue base cardstock.
I added a small diamond shaped rhinestone to the cats eye and her necklace and a larger one to 2 corners of the card.
The edge of the card is a sticker.
All for this am - time to start prepping to paint and then hopefully start painting or staining - staining if the rain clears, painting if not....

Snowflake Reindeer

Hallo,
Well I am showing you another card from my stash again - no stamping time for me today.... :(
It was raining here today so couldn't stain cabinets - my game plan was to run some neglected errands and get the paint for the kitchen and start prepping to paint......I got my errands done in a timely mannor but sat down to check email quick and fell asleep (I didn't sleep well last night...) and then it was time to run to the phone place to pick up my and my DD's new phones.
The trip to the phone place was sposed to be quick and then I had decided to forgo the prep to paint plan and get a little stamp therapy.....unfortunatly the computers at the phone place were giving them fits and it took over 2 hours to get it all done.
I did end up with a really cool phone though :) - my old palm pad is dying too so I splurged and got a phone that would also take the place of all the stuff on my palm pad......I got a DROID!!!! Now it will just take time to figure it out and get all my data loaded - my phone was too far gone to transfer all the phone numbers.....


I did this card awhile back and was trying for a rustic look - I think I managed that....
The base cardstock is dark brown ran through a texture folder and swiped with ivory ink.
The next layer is a piece of 'faux rusty metal' that I also ran through the snowflake folder and swiped with ivory ink - then edged with copper mettalic pen.
I stamped the reindeer from Flourishes in memento brown ink onto cream cardstock and colored him with copics. I then cut him out with a Spellbinders labels die using an 'out-of-the-box' technique and then ink distressed the edges and finally edging also with copper mettalic pen.
I popped the deer layer up with foam tape and then added some red rhinestones to his nose and antlers.
All for tonight - going to play with my droid....

Cas cards

Hallo,
Popping in on day 6 of the kitchen redo project - no pics of the kitchen (this isn't a horror blog :).
I started staining today hopeing to get a first coat on everything 1 - before it rained, and 2 - before the kids got home as I had errands to run once they got home.... Well I started at 820 and almost got done by 230 when the kids got home but I beat the rain at least.....boy am I sore!!! Postponed both errands - got one done and with finish off the second one tomorrow( my phone died so am getting a new one and since my old palm pad is dying too, I am splurging and getting a DROID - this ought to be interesting , we are also finally adding DD onto the cell phone plan as her track phone is dying too...).
Well my cards for the day were origionally meant for a Gina K CSS alumini blog hope that I managed to get this far with and then ran out of time to get it posted on the day of the hop......sigh....
The challenge was for CAS cards - cleasn and simple with only one layer on top of base cardstock and all embellishments had to be the same color.
All the cards use Gina K stamps - the first one was done with the cupcake stand from 'Tea Time" and texture added with a Spellbinders frame onto coredinations cardstock and sanded the texture. The image was colored with copics and spica glitter pens.




I used the spellbinders frame again on the second card as the layer and stamped the teapot from the "Tea Time " set onto the base cardstock - colored with copics.
The third card I used 2 different texture folders and my scor pad for the base layer and then Gina K stamp from the new "Lovely Labels 2" cut with the coordinating Spellbinders die as the layer. And finally added some swirly bling .....
All for tonight - some couch time a comin' - raining here tomorrow most likely so won't get any staning done - but with finish off a couple errands and start prepping to paint......maybe a stolen hour at the craft table.....

Blue and Teal doves

Hallo,
Just a quick note for you this am - my pooch is whining at the door for his walk and I have sanding and staining to do....
After over 12 hours of sanding in the last 3 days, I am finally almost ready to stain - I figure about another couple hours sanding this am and I should be ready to stain. I need to get this going as we have rain moving in which would seriously hamper the staining.....(the sanding between coats of varnish specifically as I definatly donot want to sand in the house....getting the cabinets inside sanded yesterday was "loads of fun!!!)


Just 2 cards to show you today - same stamp and same basic layout but with different Designer Paper - its neat what different looks you can get with the same stamp, just using differnt paper, ink or embellishments.
The stamp is from Flourishes.
All for now - wish me luck on the sanding and staining today!!!!
