Gear Dad

 Hallo,
   Well I am posting the last of my release week challenge cards for Flourishes today because tomorrow I might not get a chance and this way I can get it linked and all done. :)
   Next I am headed to the pool for a bit....it is HOT and MUGGY out there today... but that is summer in Florida after all....
   The noontime challenge today over at Flourishes for release week was for letters - to use a letter in your creation. Check out the challenges here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
  I had pulled out these letter rub'ons with the intention of making a wedding card and as I was rummageing through some drawers looking for flowers to go with, I found these gears and well I decided on another Father's Day card instead. I  put the rub on letters on and then glued the gears in and around  the word and then stamped the Happy Father's day from the 'A Man's view' set down in the corner.
   Ok, this is it for me today....i am still sleepy, grrr....but off to the pool I go, maybe it will help me wake up .....

Priceless Hours

 Hallo,,,,,
   Well I am on my second card for the day, once I managed to get out of bed this am, I ran and got a couple groceries and started some laundry and finally got to my craft room about noon.
  Boy every time I decide to stay up all day after work it takes me 2 days to recover....I am hoping to finish up on my projects in time to get in the pool for a bit this afternoon....
   This card is for the 'pop-it' challenge for release week at Flourishes - the challenge is to pop something up on your card/project.
   I used the 'Moments in time'  and  'A Man's View' sets again and a technique from Technique Junkies called 'faux designer paper (after I masked off the mid section of the main piece anyway)
I stamped the hourglass separately and colored it with copics and cut it out and popped it up.

  Tomorrow evening I am going to hang out downtown Fort Walton Beach for the local Art Walk - I believe I am setting up inside the ;little consignment shop (art, crafts, jewelry, trinkets and whatnots - a great mix of eye candy - called 'Fiddley Bits and Tea) - another thing I have to try and get done this evening is to gather a few of my wares for tomorrow evening :)

Dad time

 Hallo,
   Well I am back posting from thursday afternoon....I got alot done yesterday, just no stamping and I am paying for it today :) I stayed awake after work yesterday am to go with my DD to get her Senior Pictures done (tear, sniffle....she's such a beautiful girl!) Once pictures were done we went shopping because she is going to Girls State on friday and needed some stuff, then lunch, then met up with DD's Girl State sponser and then back to pick up a couple more things for girls state. By the time we got home it was only an hour till when DD had to leave for her softball games and I must have had a second wind going because I decided to go with her (even knowing that the games wouldn't be done till at least 9 pm.....I think I missed a couple innings in the second game as DD wasn't playing and I was leaning back against the backdrop of the bleachers.....but was awake for the last 2 innings that she did play that game :). Needless to say I was in bed 5 moniutes after we got home last night about 930 and didn't drag myself out of bed till 7 - had a cup of tea and a sandwhich, fell asleep while trying to check my email so went back to bed for an hour.....I swear I will never stay up all day like that again (course I say that every time.....)

Todays card was done for this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge over at Flourishes which is to make a Father's Day card - play along and you could win this months entire release!!!! Check it out here - www.flourishes.org/blog/
   I used the 'Moments in Time ' and 'A Man's View' sets for this card - kept it pretty simple by stamping the hourglass in a row with different inks - lighter gradually getting darker as I went to the right.
   I used some accents with a bronze viva decor pen and layered the main panel to brown cardstock.

Vintage Chair

 Hallo,
   A quick post this am - just getting off work and headed to sleep for the day. One more day to work and then 3 off - perfect timing so I can play with the release week challenges!!! :)
   I did this card for the first release week challenge over at Flourishes. The challenge was to make a 10 minute card (it looks like I should have taken just another minute more so I would have noticed that my ribbon was kaddy wampus :).
  I stamped the chair with memento brown onto neehnah desert storm as well as the phrase. I cut it out with a Spellbinders die and edged it with the brown ink too.
  I took a couple minutes to lightly color the image with prismacolor pencils (somehow I can't seem to resisit coloring ...) and then added some accents with a viva decor pen in bronze.

Baby tiles

Hallo,
   Another day of  double posts for me - this is the first. And another challenge card too, this one for the current challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms and it is for something Baby.
   Amazingly enough with the ton of CHF stamps that I have, I didnot have any baby stamps - hard to believe!!!
   So I started going through all my backgrounders to see if there was one I do something babyish with and came across the 'hexagon tiles' and had this idea.  It took me a bit to get the letters figured right but I thought they turned out cute.
  I had part of a transparency left from other projects that had onsies on it so I divided it between the 2 cards - I added some rhinestone accents to the boy card and some flowers to the girly one.

Seaside Snowmen

Hallo again,
  Wow 2 posts in one day!!!! But after being a whirlwind cleaning maniac this am I was able to have a couple hours in my craft room and finished off a couple challenges I had started (and I even managed to get a nap!!!).
   I did this card for the current challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog which is for  'By the Sea' Check out the challenge here - www.mitrafriant.typepad.com
   I used 2 different IO stamps for this card - 'Surfer Snow Dudes' #F2409  and 'Holiday House' #F2406

I colored both stamps with copics and cut the snowmen out with a Spellbinders die and then fussy cut out the house and layered it over the top with foam tape .
  I embossed a teal panel and sanded off for a bit of texture behind the images and then added some sparkly white accents with a tulip fabric pen.
  All for tonight - I am off to work!!!

Heartfelt Thanks

 Hallo,
   Well its fixin to be a very busy morning for me....I was a bit lazy over the weekend and didnt do any house cleaning so that is my task for this morning. If I can get done early I might still have time for the craft room!!!
  I did these 2 cards for the friday challenge for the begining of release week over at Flourishes.
The challenge was to make a 10 minute card.
  I stamped the hydrangea in one in green and one in gray onto white panels. I stamped the phrase with memento ink and edged the panels in the same ink.
  They looked a bit plain to me so I took and lightly shaded the flowers with a prismacolor pencil that  matched the ink closely and added a darker spot in the centers.
