Dappled Purple

Hallo,
Spent some time coloring in the craft room this weekend and this is one of the cards I did. I did this for Flourishes 'Make it Beautiful' challenge over at the Flourishes blog - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I colored the horse with copics - using the blender to make the light dapples and then added a few dark dapples in also. I used the warm grays to color him and then pinks and purples for the harness and saddle to match the DP.
Finally I added some rub-on's, rhinstones and a pretty button.


Earlier in the week I did this pretty horse to match "Black Beauty" well this one matches another of my favorite books as a kid called "The Blind Conemera" which is an Irish breed that is white to gray colored and often has some dappling.....
All for today - have some chores to do and will try to get a nap before I work tonight.....

Sketch Lily

Hallo,
I had some time in the craft room yesterday and came up with these 2 cards for this weeks Flourishes FTTC79 sketch. Check here for the sketch and samples from the DT - www.flourishes.org/blog/
I used the same papers and main image for both cards - just reversed the 2 DP's behind the main image.
The DP is Basic Grey and the main image is colored with copics.
The main image is from Flourishes of course!! I just got this set a week or so ago.
All for today - time to take a short trip, teaching my DD how to drive stick shift.

Showing you another batch of bookmarks for the challenge over at Copic Creation - www.copiccreations.wordpress.com
Sponsering the challenge this time is childrens author Elizabeth O. Dulemba and all the images are from her website - they are free BTW so check it out!!!
They are all colored with copics of course, cut out and layered to clear plastic sheets that can with sets of clear stamps - recycle/reuse :).

Not too much new to tell you - my old cat Fancy is doing a whole lot better - she is one tough little cookie (I really thought I was going to lose her on tuesday ).
The kiddos are at a ROTC car wash this am and I am going to try to do a few chores around the house and yard (probably house as the heat index even at 7pm last night was still 96 degrees....)

Carnival Sweetness

Hallo,
A quick post this am, as I need to get out the door - am teaching an ACLS class at work this am .......
Did this card for a challenge over at the Sweet Pea Stampers blog - the challenge was for 'carnival colors' To me carnvals are bright colors, glitter and gold - so that is what I did.
The Sweet Pea image is stamped onto iridescent gold paper and colored with prismacolor pencils and then layered to red, flowery, glittered paper and a bit of red and gold washi paper.

Kids Play

Hallo,
A bit of play time in the craft room today so I could do this and a couple other cards.
This one is for the "Kids Play" challenge over at the Flourishes blog - www.flourishes.org/blog/
The challenge was to do a card that reminded you of games you played as a kid. Well I have always been a horse nut - played anything that had to do with horses, and once I got my pony all my free time was spent with her and later her foal which I raised and trained.
I colored the horse black because one of my all time favorite books as a kid was 'Black Beauty' of course, followed closely by 'Smokey the cowhorse'. I colored him with copics and then added spica glitter pen to his mane and tail and gold to the pole.

Dp and rhinestone flourish both from Memory box I believe.

Celebrate Christmas

Hallo,
Well this is not the card I intended to post for you today - I have an image from Mo's all ready to be made into a card but didn't get it done.....
I have a good excuse - I worked monday night and came home to sleep and checked on my old cat who hasn't been eating as much lately (and she usually loves her food) but she was sleeping and seemed ok so I went to bed. I woke up about 11 and realized she hadn't come up to sleep with me like she usually does so I went to check on her and found her in some major distress. I called the vet and ran her up thinking I was going to lose her (she is 19 and 1/2 years old). I didn't manage to get much more sleep waiting for the vet to call but about 330 they called to say that my sweet girl had a really bad stomach infection but after sonme fluids was doing better so I could take her home. She needed a bath and then got her the antibiotics and by then it was time for me to get ready for work.
Lucky for me we were a bit busy at work so I could keep moving and made it through the night. I tried to get up about 1 but with my sweet girl snuggled in by my side I didn't geet out of bed until the kids got home from school. Then I went to the gym with my DD, got some groceries on the way home and had a bit of time to check email before cooking super....
My sweet old cat is looking much better today - she is acting normal and starting to eat a bit....


Anyway - I did this card a few weeks ago....
The main image is from Cornish Heritage Farms (sniff - no longer in buiness as of now.....). It is an image from Thomas Kinkade which I stamped in dark blue onto light blue paper and just colored in a few spots - like the windows, lamppost and sled - and then added stickles glitter to snowman, some trees and parts of the roof.
The layer behind is a Tim Holtz texture folder.
All for today - sitting on the couch no thinking longingly of my bed :) - can't go to bed too early or I will be up at 2 am unable to sleep.....

Let's Read

Hallo,
My couch time coloring has paid off this week. I am preposting this for you as I worked last night and again tonight - and am probably sleeping by now :)
I did this batch of bookmarks for a challenge over at Copic Creations - the challenge was a reading theme and the sponser this time is children's author Elizabeth O. Dulemba. On her site she also has a ton of great digital images for free - so all these bookmarks are her images.
They are all colored with copics.
The first bookmark is kinda a regular one and it will be for one of my co-workers Grandbabys who is 4 and just starting to learn to read.
The other bookmarks are all done with clear acrylic sheets (you know the ones clear stamps come on - recycle/reuse :) and they will go to my Niece and Nephew in Wyoming to start school with.
