CSS blog hop - sketch

Hallo,
Welcome to the CSS blog hop - if you have been following along then you came to me from Sharri's blog - http://istamp4u.blogspot.com/2010/12/css-sketch-challenge-hop.html

And if you haven't been you may want to as the Gina K CSS gals have alot to show you tonight!!!
And you will find that I am the end this time - last but hopefully not least :).
We were challenged to follow a sketch this time and I also challenged myself to use as much scraps and other card parts laying on my desk as possible. (card parts = stuff you made for something else that just didn't quite fit so you set it aside...)
I was on a roll once I got started this am....
This first card my oval turned into an ornament shape. The inside ornament was a 'card part', the frame was a left over piece from and ornament shape that I cut out and the gold snowflakes are using my Speelbinders dies on a gold Christmas card from last year :). An lastly the pearls that serve as an ornament hanger are left over from a swirly that I cut apart to use on other cards.

On my second card I followed the sketch a bit closer. The mitten is stamped on scrap DP and the background DP is also scrap. The frame is leftover from cutting out an oval for my last card and is cut from a thin piece of wood - which comes from the inside bottom of an old cigar box (cigar boxes being an addiction of mine :).

This last card uses the 'blank' from the large Spellbinders snowflake die (I used the snowflake on a clear ornament that is still 'in process') and I layered the oval cut from the thin cigar box wood on top after stamping and embossing the mitten with distress powder. I also cut the snowflakes from the last pieces of the thin cigar box wood and then brushed them lightly with embossing ink and embossed with silver - I wanted some of the wood to show (rustic ya know...).
I hope you all enjoyed our hop - I am hopping off to work tonight so will have to go through the hop tomorrow after a little nap....
Have a great evening!!!!
Tera
